Paris, Lisbon, Dubai and Hong Kong as well as the many iconic landmarks found in cities across the world are captured as cityscape artworks, demonstrating how urban landscapes continue to be a substantial part of the contemporary art scene.
Inspired by Post-Impressionism and Cubism the series of cityscapes place emphasis on the symbolic content where colour is utilised as an emotional and aesthetic bearer of meaning.
Documenting the artist’s travels across the globe, the cityscapes capture the mood of the urban environment whilst also simultaneously mirroring the artist’s response to the setting.

Hiraeth is a Cymraeg (Welsh) word which doesn't translate well into English. It is a deep longing for home. It is similar to the Cornish hireth and the Breton hiraezh as well as the Portuguese saudade. It’s pronounced “here-eyeth” (roll the “r”).
The series titled Mae hiraeth arna amdanot ti/ There’s a homesickness on me for you - is a continually developing collection of digital landscape paintings which focus specifically on the artist’s home, Wales or the “Place of the Others”.

“Initially inspired by David Hockney’s swimming pool art, Sirens explores the pool and sea in relation to the female figure.
Water is the most primal of all archetypes. Across cultures, water is seen as the driving element behind creation; as an archetype, water seems to possess a cleansing, renewing power and perceived as female.
Thus it demonstrates women’s affinity with water, reinforcing the idea of restoration and endless possibilities of transformation.”

This series of portraits, is part of a wider project focusing on Selfebrity, takes inspiration from two specific artists: Tamara de Lempicka (1898 – 1980) and Alex Katz (1927 – ). Expanding on the idea of the Technoself, the At Night, Goddess Series takes a photo real approach to the depiction of the subjects which contrasts greatly with the high energy nightclub strobe colourful starburst rays backgrounds that also pays tribute to Pop art and Art Deco..
Visually, each portrait is of a woman distinctively dressed in 1970s inspired Studio 54 attire intending to signify the importance of myth making; the (de)construction of star image; reclamation of the female body and in turn homage to second wave feminist artists.
The portraits reflects bold liberated female sexuality and powerful femininity which is an essential element of the series. The sunglasses are a deliberate motif which denotes the subversion of the female body as an object to be looked at.
They also focus on women as leads rather than as spectacle. Each represents the desires of the subjects and therefore in turn represents the desires of the female audience.
All prints are available to buy.
